Warren Harper Obituary

Warren Loy Harper, age 87, passed away on November 19, 2025. Warren was born in Decatur, Texas on February 4, 1938, to Sherry Clifford Harper and Emma Margurite May. Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Davis and grandson, Travis Cooper Pierce. 

Warren is survived by his brother, Sherry Clifford Harper, children, Warren L. Harper II and Sabrina Harper Dunstan; grandchildren, John Michael Pierce, Elizabeth Pierce Cook and Kelsi Harper; great grandchildren McKenzie, Easton, Weston and Hudson Cook; and many other family members. 

Warren served in the Navy, Army and retired from the Coast Guard. After retiring from the military, Warren went on to spend 29 years with the Houston Chronicle. 

Warren and his family settled in Crockett, Texas. Crockett was home to him. He loved everything about the country way of life; hunting, fishing, and driving country roads. 

Warren was known for being funny and quick witted. He never met a stranger!

His life was long and blessed. He will be missed by many!
