Skyler Sewell Obituary

Skyler R. Sewell passed away Thursday, May 25th, 2023, at the age of 17, from an accidental overdose.

Born May 11th, 2006, to Roger Sewell and Patricia Burnham.

He is survived by his parents Roger Sewell and Patricia Burnham; his three siblings: Zachary Sewell, Amanda Sewell, and Alyssa Jessup; Uncle Kyle Sewell & wife (Jenna); Uncle Jack Olive & wife (Cheryl); Neice Brooke Robinson; Nephew Chase Sewell; Nephew Jace O’Neil; Cousins: Jonathan Black, Jaden Sewell, Hope Sewell & Little Jack Olive.

He is proceeded in death by his Mamaw and Papaw (Bill and Minta Sewell), Grandparents, Jack Olive and Charlene Holehan, Aunt Donna Black, cousin Jace Sewell, and two 4-legged furry friends Ollie and Laila.

Skyler was a student at LD Bell High School. He acquired many friends that became like brothers to him.  He was an extremely gifted and self-taught musician who could sit down and teach himself any song he wanted to learn to play. He played guitar, ukelele, bass guitar, keyboards & drums.  He grew up with music being a large piece of his life, as many of his family members are musically inclined. Skyler began to write his own songs and create a presence on Spotify. It didn’t matter where he was or who he was around, he was never shy with his talent. Much of his time with his friends was spent strumming guitars, singing lyrics, and laughing at their good memories.

Skyler was also a very good artist. He could draw many characters with amazing accuracy. He had incredible creative talents as well as intelligence. His life here on earth was cut short and his future will not play out. However, the memories will live on as he touched so many lives.

Skyler is missed beyond measure and will be remembered for his generous, kind-hearted soul and witty personality. He loved hard and hugged tight; he never missed a moment to tell someone he loved them. He was sensitive and felt his emotions deeply, while also being unexpectedly hilarious in every moment. He always could find something funny to say to make anyone smirk or laugh.

We will miss hearing him sing while strumming his various guitars. And those closest to him will miss singing with him in the car, in our home, or wherever he was. We will hold our memories close, and they will never be forgotten. We hope that you too will hold on to the memories of Skyler Sewell.

You are tremendously missed, Skyler. Rest peacefully. We love you endlessly.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
