Roberta Jean Morrison Pearson passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia on August 11, 2022 at the age of 96. Jean was born on may 23, 1926 in Shreveport, LA to John and Madge Bass Morrison. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
She was she was the baby sister of Margery Morrison Sistrunk, deceased. She married E.G. (Jiggs) Pearson of Eastpoint, LA on September 24,1946. They had two sons, William Randall (Randy), Fort Worth, TX and Robert Neal (Bob) of Louisville, KY. Life took them from Shreveport, LA to Sherman, TX,, Appleton, WI, Columbus, GA, Memphis, TN and Prattville, AL. While in Sherman, She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and President of the Sherman Service League in 1966. After Jiggs' death in 1996 Jean returned to Texas in 1997to be closer to the family and live at the courtyards at River Park (Merrill Gardens) for 23 years.
Jean worked as a Customer Service Rep at the Regions Bank in Prattville, AL where she retired. Jean was proud to work as an Office Assistant at the Courtyards showing potential residents the campus until her health declined.
Jean loved to read and work crossword, jigsaw and sudoku puzzles. She also loved house plants, birds and Blue Bell ice cream. She love to take long walks on the Trinity River when her health had permitted. Jean is survived by sons Randy (Debbie) of Fort Worth, TX Bob (Vickie) of Louisville, KY, granddaughters, Carry Huhtanen (Jeff) of Aledo, TX, Crystal Pearson of Dallas, TX and Marcia Pearson Dotson (Joe) of Louisville, KY. She had two great grandchildren, Morgan and Sarah Huhtanen of Aledo, TX and two step grandchildren, Lucas and Elliot Dotson of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by two nieces, Ellen Sistrunk Nicholson and Judy Williamson and their families of Louisiana.
