Richard Arnett Gilliam, of Bedford, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 11 at the age of 92. Richard was born November 23, 1930 in Tucson, Arizona, and he had no siblings. He attended school in Milford, Utah and Muskogee, Oklahoma. In 1951, he obtained his masters degree in Tallequah, Oklahoma.
After graduating dental school in 1955, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in France as a dentist. Here, he married Josette, his wife for 36 years. He then practiced dentistry for 35 years in Haltom City, where he retired in 1995. He was known for his calm and gentle manner.
He is survived by his loving companion for 23 years, Carol Boen, and his two children, Mark Gilliam and Sylvia Pierce, 2 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 21, at Forest Ridge Funeral Home in North Richland Hills at 10am. He will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:30pm. In lieu of sending flowers, consider a donation to the Methodist Children's Home in Waco, TX.
