Randall Jon Baker was born on Tuesday, February 25th 1947 in Sheldon, Iowa. After high school graduation, he attended the University of Iowa for a semester before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served for three years. In 1969, he moved to Seattle, Washington to join his parents, Jonathan and June Baker, who had settled there.
He was attending the University of Washington when he met and soon married the love of his life, Maria Trikiriotis of Samos, Greece, on October 27, 1972. Randall earned a Bachelor of Arts in business administration, a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and physics, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington. Upon graduation, he was employed by GTE (Verizon) where he worked in finance for 26 years. In 1984, Randall’s work would take him, Maria and their five children to Texas, where most of the family still resides.
In his younger years, Randall enjoyed camping and fishing. Shortly after he and Maria were married, they took a two-week road trip from Seattle to Alaska where they enjoyed mother nature and even panned for gold. Their marriage would become the most precious element of all, spanning some 51 years with five children and four grandchildren.
After retirement, Randall enjoyed golfing, trips to Seattle to visit family and spending Sundays with his wife, children and grandchildren. Our rock, devoted husband, father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, October 31st 2023 at the age of 76. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Maria; his children Letitia, Jonathan, Ariana, Michelle and Joseph; his grandchildren, Ella, Hazel, Ivy and Olivia; and his siblings Richard, Barbara and Jonathan and their families. May his memory be eternal.
