Patricia Darlene Lane White, 81, of North Richland Hills was called home to be with the Lord on May 28, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at Center Point Church in North Richland Hills on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00am.
Patricia was born on November 22, 1942 to Charles and Doris (Patton) Lane in Lubbock, Texas. She was known by her parents, family, and school-aged friends as "Patsy." As a child, she enjoyed going to Goree, TX to visit her grandparents, especially her maternal grandfather who would take her to the skating rink, and even taught her how to drive. Despite hitting every pothole in the road, he reassured her she was a very good driver. Growing up she was very close to her older brother Charles Eugene (Gene) Lane.
Patricia graduated from Monterey High School in 1961. She met her groom, Donald (Don) McLane White in Lubbock in February of 1962 and they were married September 15th of that year. They were married for 57 years when Don passed away in 2019. They lived in various places through the years, mostly in the suburbs of Fort Worth. They have two daughters; Tamera (Tammy) Tergerson and Cheryll Jeter.
She helped Don in various business ventures from scheduling pest control appointments, managing concessions in Burleson during the summers at the baseball fields, had been a typist for Radio Shack, and was involved in PTA when the girls were in elementary school. In 1980, Don and Pat purchased a restaurant in Crowley, which Pat managed and ran for over 7 years that came to be named "Pat's Country Cookin'" as she added her homecooked items to the menu. After the sale of her business, she worked at the Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of America until she retired.
After she and Don retired, they traveled with their RV before purchasing property in Bosque County where they built a home on adjoining land next to close friends. They later moved in town to Clifton, TX before moving back to the Mid-Cities area in 2015.
She loved doing for others and had such a sweet spirit. She is remembered as being extremely giving, thoughtful, an amazing cook, an outstanding 42 player, and a dear friend, but most of all she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband Don, brother Gene Lane and her parents.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her daughter Tammy Tergerson and husband Justin; daughter, Cheryll Jeter; grandchildren Andrew and Lauren Hall, Angela Kraft, Douglas, Matthew and wife Meagan, Melissa, and Karina Tergerson, and seven great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
She will live for eternity in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
