Myrtie Daphine (Damron) Kendrick

Daphine Kendrick, 91, of Hurst, Texas passed away peacefully on May 29, 2021. Daphine was born March 6th, 1930, to Marcus and Josephine Damron in Greensburg, Kentucky.

Daphine met her husband of 60 years, Creston Kendrick, in Fort Worth, Texas as neighbors carpooling to Meachum Field Airport in Fort Worth. Daphine a stewardess for Central Airlines, and Cress working for American Airlines. They married in June 1960.

She retired as a stewardess when her first child was born. She became a devoted housewife and mother, raising three girls. They later moved to Hurst, Texas in 1969 when Cress transferred to Dallas Love Field.

Daphine was preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia Swindall, her parents, and brother, Dorance Damron of Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Survivors include her husband, Creston, daughters Kimberly Kendrick of Roanoke, Kristi Scott and husband Henry of North Richland Hills, Texas; her grandsons Randy Swindall, Ryan, and Kyle Scott, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
