Millicent "Millie" Heinz Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that her family shares the news of the passing of Millicent “Millie” Heinz on May 7, 2026. Millicent Judith Sokolik Heinz was born in New Jersey to Amelia Pavlu Sokolik and John Daniel Sokolik on December 6, 1937. She earned an associate degree from Pace College and worked as a secretary for American Airlines, Parsippany-Troy Hills Schools, and served as counseling secretary and registrar at Trinity High School in HEB ISD, Texas.

Millie married Harold R. “Harry” Heinz on May 23, 1964. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt to an extended family of nieces and nephews. She supported Harry in his career at American Airlines and as a Deacon for the Diocese of Fort Worth for 42 years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, needlework, ice hockey, their Bible study group, spending time with her grandchildren, and her cats. She and Harry enjoyed traveling for many years and were long-time active members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Her life exemplified faith, devotion, and service to her family and others.

Millie passed away peacefully in Bedford, Texas on May 7, 2026. Her family is comforted knowing that she is reunited with Harry, who predeceased her in February 2026, and that they are in the presence of their Savior Jesus Christ.

Millie is survived by her daughter Amy Heinz Aris (Chuck) and son Erik Heinz (Renee) and her grandchildren: Matthew Aris (Isabelle), Katherine Aris Miller (Andrew), Garrett Heinz
(Lauren), and Ayden Heinz.

A viewing and vigil will be held at Forest Ridge Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26th from 5:00-7:00 PM. A funeral mass to celebrate Millie's long and happy life will be held on May 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church, located at 3713 Harwood Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Millie's memory to the Alzheimer's Association-North Texas, a cause close to Harry and Millie’s hearts.

Millie will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her. Her life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, faith, and family.
