Mary Elizabeth Byrd Perry was born June 8, 1944, to Doyne and Myrtis Byrd and stepped into the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 17, 2025, at the age of 80 years old.
Other than a short period of a few childhood years, she was born and raised in the Fort Worth, Texas area and Mary was a part of the first graduating class of Richland High School in 1962.
After testing her skills in a variety of office jobs, she found her niche in the health care field and spent the final 28 years of her employment managing long term care facilities and finally retiring in 2012. She graduated from North Texas State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Gerontology/Long Term Care. As an Administrator, she managed facilities in Bangs, Ballinger, Watauga and Hurst, Texas during her career.
Mary was a dedicated servant of God, ministering to those around her in every way possible. As a member of First Baptist Church Keller, she became a dedicated source of prayer requests. She will long be remembered for her kindness and caring heart. She was the consummate Proverbs 31 wife and mother.
Mary married her husband, Jim Perry in 1980, celebrating 45 years of marital bliss in February 2025.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Perry; daughters Sherry and husband Michael Copeland, Lisa and husband Mark Fite; Stepdaughters Kelley and husband Kyle Yates, Tracy and husband Don Brock, Melissa and husband Mike Wade; Stepson Rick Perry and wife Carolina; Grandsons Dr. Spencer Copeland, Cameron Copeland and wife Jia, Josh Yates, Aaron Green and Matthew Wade; Granddaughters MarKayla Fite, Alanna and husband Ryan Baker, Kristin Tanz, Alyssa Yates, Madison Wade, Paige Perry Modglin and husband Matthew; Five great grandsons; Aunt Wanda Braswell, Niece Judy Braswell Young and husband Steve and Niece Christy Byrd Ulmet; one great niece and two great nephews and countless friends.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:28-31 NIV
She will be remembered in a Celebration of Life at First Baptist Church Keller on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
