Mary Beaumont Obituary

Mary Beirise Beaumont, born January 25th 1956, passed away early Sunday morning, August 21, 2022, surrounded by close family.

Mary was the 3rd of 8 children born to Joanne Beirise and James Beirise of Kettering, Ohio. In her youth, Mary excelled at swimming and was the mascot of her high school, as Frieda Falcon of Fairmont East. Her first job was at the A&W Rootbeer stand, where sisters Ann, Susan, and Karen had also worked. Upon graduating high school, Mary attended the University of Cincinnati where she earned a bachelors degree in industrial design and met the love of her life, Tom Beaumont. She and Tom married on October 14th, 1978 and would have celebrated 44 years of marriage this year.

After 4 years in Cincinnati, Mary & Tom moved to Texas where they spent a year in Lubbock before settling down in Bedford. In July of 1984, Mary & Tom adopted Trent, followed by Cecily in December of 1986. Mary was a devoted mother and dedicated her life to supporting and caring for her children, family, and friends. Throughout Trent & Cecily’s childhood, Mary & Tom also opened their home to foster children, family friends in need, and foreign exchange students. Their welcoming and loving nature gave sanctuary to many over the years.

Mary worked for 7 years at Texas Instruments before being diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease at the age of 34. She loved being an engineer and managing a team as it was a challenge that allowed her to exercise creativity. After recovering from Hodgkins, Mary stayed home with Trent and Cecily for much of their childhood. She was an active participant in their schooling, as a fierce advocate for their success and in using her artistic skills to design and create backdrops and costumes for school events.

In her later years, Mary rediscovered her love of painting and began classes at Tarrant County College to hone her skills. She painted daily, producing portraits, still lifes, and landscapes in oil on canvas. In addition to painting, Mary enjoyed creating mosaics, working jigsaw puzzles, gardening, traveling, and interior decorating. She was the unofficial color authority for all who needed her keen eyes to find just the right shade for a project. And when she was unable to withstand painting herself, she continued through others by sharing her knowledge at “Aunt Mary’s Art Camp”.

Mary was giving of her time and support to social efforts including Catholic Charities, the American Heart Association, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and her home church of St. Michael’s. She held deep compassion for others and felt called to serve in any way that she could.

Mary had a great sense of humor and brought joy to every room with her laughter. She cherished time with family and friends, and enjoyed hosting parties, game nights and holidays in her home. In the most recent years she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Eliot, as his Granmary.

She will be greatly missed by her children, family, and friends, though we have joy in knowing that she will no longer suffer. We would like to thank the many health care professionals who have cared for Mary over the years for all of their support and without whom we would not have been able to keep her this long. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael. She is survived by her husband Tom Beaumont, children Trent (Shaubri) Beaumont, Cecily (Reilly) Stroope, grandson Eliot, and siblings Ann (Bob) Burns, Jean (John Coons) Beirise, Steve (Lisa) Beirise, Susan (Lowell) Patrick, Tim (Reba) Beirise, and Karen (John) Scherger as well as her numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be delayed until sometime in Spring of 2023 as Tom undergoes treatment for Multiple Myeloma. We will communicate details once arrangements are made. Mary was always loving, kind, caring and joyful even through the difficult times and showed us all how to live. She will be missed by all.

The family wishes memorial contributions be made to the Arlington Life Shelter.
