Martha “Marty” Beasley-Dannis - Feb. 15 1950 - Nov. 30 2022
Martha left this plane of existence (much too soon) to join her husband Vince Dannis, and her savior on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022. Martha was born in Oak Park, Illinois near Chicago to Arthur and Grace Beasley, and moved to Memphis as a girl with her two older brothers, Tom and Jay Beasley. She went on to earn a B.S. in Physical Therapy from University of Michigan (Go Blue!) in 1972, and moved to Texas shortly thereafter – making her a potent mix of midwestern agreeableness and southern hospitality.
Martha was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, neighbor and community member. She spent 30+ years as a Physical Therapist, helping patients with a wide range of diagnosis from cardiac to neuro, namely at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital HEB. Her Methodist faith was central to her life. She was a dedicated and active member of her church at First United Methodist Church of Hurst, as well as a volunteer at Mission Central Metroplex in her retirement. Our tiny, but mighty mother “Marty” lived her life to serve others – she was truly the queen of empathy. She loved gardening and baking. Much to the delight of her daughter, she recently rediscovered her love of travel in retirement. Rather famously, she did not love technology (of any sort).
She is survived by her daughter Kari Szul, her son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Dana Szul, along with her two grandchildren, Blake and Stella Szul. Funeral services will be held on December 10, 2022 at 11AM at FUMC of Hurst.
