Marjorie Foshee Quiram of Dallas Texas was born April 30, 1925 in Houston to Clinton James Foshee and Alpha Calhoun Foshee. She passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on October 11, 2022 at Parkwood Health Care in Bedford, Texas.
She is survived by grandson Collin Stevenson and wife Angie of Massachusetts; granddaughter Katie Cabrera and husband J.C of New Jersey; grandson Caleb Stevenson of Texas; five great-grandchildren Marlo, Johnny and Louisa Stevenson and Abby and Olivia Cabrera; step-daughters Kathryn Hickerson and Patricia Layton; niece Diane Foshee. She is preceded in death by son Louis Charles (BW) Stevenson, brother Clinton Foshee and husband Harold Quiram.
Marjorie had a talent for art from an early age and honed her skills in high school and college, attending Sunset High School and Arlington State College in the early 1940’s. She worked for several Dallas art studios as a commercial artist and illustrated the Linz Jewelry catalogues and advertisements. Marjorie continued to work into her nineties, illustrating greeting cards and children’s books including “Sammy the White House Mouse.” She was a friend and mentor to several famous artists including Noel Mahaffey and Chapman Kelley, serving as both muse and critic. She had a great love for animals, birds, flowers, classical and Big Band music and old movies. She was a voracious reader of murder mysteries and biographies. Dogs and cats were her constant companions. Her son BW Stevenson, a Texas folk singer/musician, had his biggest fan in Marjorie. She encouraged his musical talents and career, relishing in each new recording and album release.
Marjorie will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She leaves a wonderful legacy through her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. “Love you more…”
