Leesa Christian Obituary

Leesa Deanne Christian

August 13, 1956 – January 17, 2026

Leesa Deanne Christian of Bedford, Texas, danced into the arms of Jesus on January 17, 2026. She was 69 years old.

Leesa was born on August 13, 1956 to Lloyd and Jeannine Hudson in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1971, their family relocated to Bedford, where Leesa and her sister Karen attended school and joined First Baptist Hurst. Leesa graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 1974.

She worked in the customer service industry most of her life at Teccor Electronics and Atlas Match. Her kindness extended far beyond her ability to assist clients; Leesa never met a stranger and loved making new friends everywhere she went.

On December 19, 2000, Leesa was given the gift of life, when she received a kidney/pancreas transplant after suffering from Type I diabetes for many years. Because of a family who selflessly donated their son’s organs, Leesa’s life was forever changed for the better. For 25 years, she took care of these precious gifts and lived her life to the fullest.

Leesa loved to dance, listen to music, and celebrate any moment she could. Her favorite places were the beach, the pool, and the back of a Harley with her best friend. She traveled many miles all across the country on the back of a motorcycle and even went to Sturgis several times. She loved to travel with her family, too, making trips to Ohio, Florida, California, the Texas coast, and Jamaica. She even got to celebrate her 68th birthday in Costa Rica and her 69th birthday in Cancun.

“Little L” had a servant’s heart. She volunteered as a liaison for Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) for many years. She enjoyed shopping for shoes, clothes, and jewelry, but not nearly as much as she adored her special niece, Hannah. Leesa’s animals were important to her, too, and she was the best “nanny” to her doggie and horsey nephews over the years. She was an incredible cook and loved to make food for everyone in her life. Her green thumb was unmatched. She rescued many plants in need of some TLC and made them flourish. When she wasn’t on the back of a motorcycle, lounging on a pool floatie, or tending to plants and animals, she enjoyed talking to her friends and family on the phone.

Leesa’s beautiful long brown hair, striking green eyes, and unforgettable laugh will forever be missed by those who loved her. She was a lifelong Christian and loved her family and friends deeply.

She is survived by her mother, Jeannine Hudson; sister, Karen Harrel (David); niece, Hannah Nelson (Austin); doggie nephews, Franklin and Stanley; aunt, Gwen Maroney; uncle, Jimmy Maroney (Kay); long-time best friends, Roxsan and Susie; and many cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Mitchell Hudson; grandparents, Ruby and George Mitchell Hudson and John and Jenny Maroney; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

To keep Leesa’s memory alive, the family invites you to go dance and celebrate, just as Leesa would have done. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leesa’s honor can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or an animal charity of your choice. If you are able, the family also encourages you to give the gift of life by signing up to be an organ donor.
