Jody Horton, of Watauga, Texas, passed away on July 27, 2024, in North Richland Hills, Texas at the age of 82. Jody was born on February 10, 1942, in Rotan, Texas to John Melton Bryant and Jettie Evelyn Barnes. She lived a fulfilling life marked by a distinguished career and deep personal relationships.
Jody began her career at Western Union in Dallas, Texas, before moving to California where she worked in the Stock Market for several years. She returned to Texas to fulfill her dream job at Burlington Northern Railroad, where she worked until her retirement. Throughout her career, Jody was known for her dedication, sharp mind, and the ability to warmly connect with colleagues.
A devout member of the College Hill Church of Christ, her faith was a significant aspect of her life, providing her with strength and comfort.
Jody is survived by her fur babies, Gwenie and Prissie; her heart sister, Billie Noland of Carrolton, Texas; heart brother, Drew Noland, for their love of football “Go Cowboys”; niece, Leanne Thompson Mayon of North Richland Hills, Texas; Kellie Haynes of Carrolton, Texas; her dear neighbors and Heather Hammach, for her love of fur babies. Jody's warmth, wisdom, and kindness will be missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held to honor Jody's Life on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth, Texas.
