James Hatfield Obituary

James “Jim” Hatfield, 80, of Hurst, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was born on October 21, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Edward and Eleanor Hatfield.

Jim was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be remembered by friends and family as one of the kindest and most friendly people they’ve ever known. Jim never met a stranger and had a fun-loving spirit.

Jim could always be found either volunteering at the City of Hurst Senior Center or as a Citizen on Patrol, visiting his family, eating lunch with the “Lunch Bunch”, playing with his cats, or watching the Cowboys. His smile and humor would light up any room. Jim’s love of animals was admirable. To say his cats (Callie and Sissy) and fish were loved and spoiled would be an understatement.

Jim was an Air Force Veteran, serving 4 years as a Basic Airman. He was stationed at Shaw Airforce Base in South Carolina.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Cindi Paschall and husband David, son Mark Hatfield and wife Terrie; grandchildren Krista McIntire, Carissa Paschall, Christopher Hatfield (Meagan), Kristina Hatfield, Lindsey Tennyson (Kirk), Severo Deluna, Jr. (Pamela), Brianna Munoz, Ashley Hatfield, and Ian Howe; 9 great-grandchildren; Brileigh, Kambrey James, Hudson, Kinley, Mason, Carter, Dustin, Dakota, Miles, extended family, and an abundance of close friends. Jim was preceded in death by his mother and grandmother and stepdaughter.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 1pm at Forest Ridge Funeral Home Memorial Park Chapel in North Richland Hills, Texas. Jim will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Arlington National Cemetery.

If you wish to honor Jim, please consider a donation in his name to the City of Hurst Senior Center or the Humane Society of North Texas.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
