Ivan Pieratt, 87, formerly of Houston, Tx. and Wichita, Ks., passed away peacefully at his North Richland Hills home on June 24, 2024.
Ivan was born in Wichita, Ks. He was proudly the son of Paul and Sydney Pieratt. Ivan was a graduate of Kansas State and married Martha Sue Pearson during his college years. In May of 1961 he, his wife and two small daughters moved to Houston to start his career as a structural engineer with Walter P. Moore firm. Later, Ivan and partners started their own firm in 1967; P.S.S. Partnership. He enjoyed his career for almost 52 years, not retiring until he was in his 70s.
He was a member of several organizations: American Institute of Architects, Harris County GOP executive committee delegates of state GOP convention, and Bethany Christian Church to name a few.
Ivan was an art enthusiast, enjoyed fishing, chess, dancing, reading and being with his friends and family. He and his wife held many parties and celebrations at their home.
Ivan is survived by his sister, Carol (Pete) Peterson; his children, Sheree (Mike) West, Cindy Blass, Dennis Pieratt; grandsons Matthew (Nicole) West, Zac and Grant Bolubasz; three great grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
