It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harold Richard Heinz, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and steadfast servant of God, on February 27, 2026. Harry left this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of his life, Millie, and his cherished family.
Born on April 26, 1933, in Guttenberg, NJ, Harry was the treasured son of Matthew and Barbara Heinz. He was preceded by his parents, as well as his dear brothers, Raymond and Matthew, and his loving sisters, Barbara and Gertrude. Despite these losses, Harry found immense joy and purpose in the family he built with Millie, his wife of 62 wonderful years. Together, they raised two children, Amy and Erik, and were blessed with four adoring grandchildren: Garrett, Matthew, Kate, and Ayden.
Harry's life was a testament to dedication in all its forms. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1951 and pursued higher education at St. Peter's College, graduating in 1959; his degree led him to a career as an accountant and auditor for Prudential Insurance and for American Airlines. His sense of duty extended beyond academics; he served his country as a medical technician in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Following his military service, Harry embraced a spiritual calling, in 1982 becoming an ordained Permanent Deacon for the Catholic Diocese of Ft. Worth, TX., where he served faithfully until retiring in October 2025.
Harry's life was rich with simple pleasures and boundless love. A great storyteller, humble and gentle soul, he found great joy in his family, baking pies, making preserves and serving the Saint Michael’s family. But above all, Harry's heart belonged to his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Harry's legacy is one of love, humility, and unwavering faith. He was a devoted husband, a caring father, a doting grandfather, and a cherished Deacon who touched the lives of many with his kindness and compassion.
A viewing and vigil will be held at Forest Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7th from 5:00-7:00 PM. A funeral mass to celebrate Harry's remarkable life will be held on March 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church, located at 3713 Harwood Rd. In lieu of
flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Harry's memory to the Alzheimer's Association-North Texas, a cause close to his heart.
Harry will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. His life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, faith, and family.
