Glenda Dianna Isbell, 78, of North Richland Hills, Texas, formerly of Richland Hills, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 23, 2026.
Dianna was born on September 10, 1947, in Comanche, Texas, to Emmit and Inez Hicks. She married Jefferson “Jeff” Isbell, and they shared 48 years together before his passing in 2014.
Dianna began her career working for General Dynamics but chose to leave her position when she began raising her family. She later enjoyed a successful career in real estate with Century 21 for many years. Eventually deciding she wanted her weekends back, Dianna changed directions and became a substitute teacher for Birdville ISD. She later went to work for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she spent more than 10 years before retiring. Even in retirement, Dianna stayed busy managing the rental properties she and Jeff had acquired over the years.
Dianna enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved spending time with her boyfriend, Peter, playing bingo with her friends, enjoying happy hour, and, of course, keeping up with everyone on Facebook. She loved knowing what her family and friends were doing and staying connected to the people she cared about.
Dianna is preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Isbell, her son, Shane Isbell and her grandson, Parker Isbell.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Ted Odum; her granddaughters, Olivia and Julia Odum and Brooke Becker; her nephew, Mike Mercer and his family; her niece, Rhonda Brown and her family; as well as other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A service celebrating Dianna’s life will be held on September 10, 2026, on what would have been her 79th birthday, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Forest Ridge Funeral Home in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Dianna lived a full and independent life. She worked hard, loved her family, loved staying connected with family and friends, and always liked to know what everyone was up to. Her strong and independent spirit, along with the many memories she leaves behind, will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by those who knew and loved her.
