It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Colin Michael Gordon, beloved son, on March 17, 2025. He entered this world on December 5, 2005 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is the son of Michelle Marie Gordon Howard and David Howard. He is survived by his sisters Skylar and Taylor and brother Trent. He is also survived by his grand parents: Sheryl Gordon of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Bruce and Susan Gordon of Salado, Texas; John and Connie Howard of Sevierville, Tennessee; and Douglas Cowan of Las Cruces, New Mexico. He has multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins that that love and miss him.
Colin enjoyed helping people through his work in Scouts and other volunteer work. For his Eagle Scout project he built two food pantry blessing boxes in two different locations in Bedford, Texas. These allow people in need to receive food without embarrassment or need to travel to get the items. He achieved his Eagle Scout rank from Troop 387. He was a Camp Counselor at Camp Hale in Oklahoma and was Den Chief for Cub Scout Pack 307 in Bedford, Texas. He was inducted into the Order of the Arrow brotherhood. He was a Lifeguard for Euless Recreation Center.
Colin graduated from Trinity High School in Euless, Texas in 2024. After graduation, Colin began attending Tarleton State University. He was looking forward to a military career in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Business Major with a minor in Military Science. He was a Cadet in the Tarleton Corps of Cadets. He was contracted with the US Marine Corps and expected to begin Officer Candidate School training this summer. Colin always wanted to be a Marine. He loved the military, and loved to serve others around him.
Colin also loved to ride his motorcycle. He said it relaxed him and helped him deal with all of the stress of the different obligations he had in his busy life. Colin took every opportunity to go riding with friends. Colin was a fiercely loyal friend.
Colin was involved in a motorcycle crash on March 14, 2025. He was in the ICU for a few days and succumbed to his injuries. Colin continued to serve, even after his death by giving to others through his organ and tissue donations.
His family and friends love and miss him. The Memorial Service for Colin will be held on Saturday March 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Martin United Methodist Church in Bedford, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Colin’s funeral/memorial fund which can be found on GoFundMe.
