Clifton Weaver Obituary

Clifton "Clif" Weaver, 92, was born on November 8, 1931 in Denison, Texas and went Home Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Clif was one of six children born to the late Carl and Arden Allen Weaver. He grew up in Denison, a place he loved, playing sports and graduating with honors from Denison High School. Many years later, Clif would return to teach geometry at D.H.S.

Clif met his future wife, Joyce Brown, in high school. According to Clif, it was a thunderbolt -quickly falling in love, a love that has lasted 72 years.

After serving in the US Navy for 4 years as a first class petty officer, Clif earned his B.S. in Math and his M.Ed from University of North Texas. During this time, he worked as a journeyman electrician, a skill he learned while in the Navy as the Shipboard Electrician.

Clif retired from North Lake College as the Dean of Technical Occupations. While he was there, he helped draw the plans for the two million dollar Technical Occupations Building and also established the Metroplex Teacher Training Center for Dallas ad Ft. Worth's beginning teachers.

Clif was a Christian gentleman, with a quiet unassuming strength for any occasion. His life was spent loving God, his family, and his friends. Patience and kindness were two of his many virtues. He was loved by his siblings- Rose, Jodey, James, Phinis and Carlene. He made life-lasting friends, meeting with his high school buddies once a month for many, many years. He lived out his faith by loving and serving others.

Clif is survived by his devoted wife Joyce, his beloved son Mark Allen and wife Cathy, four adorable grandchildren, Matt and wife Laura, Jennifer and husband Elliott, Taylor and fiancé Isaiah, Robert and fiancé Caitlin, his faithful sister Carlene Ross and many nieces and nephews including his special encourager, Dave Logan and wife Tonya.

We are sure that his other beloved son, Michael, greeted him on Tuesday, May 21st.
