Clark Earle Compton

Clark Earle Compton, 75, of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away on August 10, 2026, in Watauga, Texas.

Clark was born on May 13, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, to T.J. Compton and Margaret Long.Clark was a father, grandfather, uncle, sports enthusiast, and professional sports handicapper. Above all, Clark was a true character—the kind of person who could make you laugh, shake your head, and sometimes do both at the same time.Clark had a strong personality, strong opinions, and a very distinctive way of seeing the world. He had his own way of doing things and a sense of humor that could be unexpected, irreverent, and, at times, genuinely funny. Those who knew him best will undoubtedly smile when remembering the things he said, the things he did, and the moments that were unmistakably Clark.Beneath his larger-than-life personality was a man who loved his family in his own way. He leaves behind stories, memories, and plenty of moments that will continue to bring laughter and love to those who knew him.

Clark was preceded in death by his sons, Jacob Compton and Eric Compton; his nephew, David J. Mills; and his brother, David Mills.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Sina Compton; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandon, Aidan, and Sarah Compton; and his nieces, Katie Blalock and Lauren Dillon.

Clark was truly one of a kind. He had a personality that was impossible to overlook and a way of leaving an impression on the people around him. His stories, humor, quirks, opinions, and unmistakable personality will live on in the memories of those who knew him.

He will be missed, remembered fondly, and cherished through the stories and memories he leaves behind.

A memorial service celebrating Clark’s life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at:
