Clarita West Dennis, 82, longtime resident of Bedford, Texas, passed away on February 4, 2023. Clarita was born to Irvan and Clara West on June 30, 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas. After graduating from Hawley High School she attended McMurry College in Abilene where she fell in love with a West Texas redhead named Robert Dennis, whom she would then marry on August 17, 1963 (59 years!). Clarita received her Masters Degree from the University of North Texas and used that education to teach primarily middle school for almost 30 years in the HEB ISD. While teaching was her vocation, her passion was her family and her travels. By the mid-1990's,Clarita had retired from teaching and would spend her time with her grandchildren, at various church activities and traveling the world.
Clarita is survived by husband Robert, son Jack Dennis (Amy) and daughter Jill Novelo (Rafael), her grandchildren: Valarie (Larry), Casey, Grant and Kate, nephew Rafe (Annette) and niece Mary (Keith) along with numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Irvan Miller and Clara Anglin West and sister Evelyn Williams (Royce).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9th, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Forest Ridge Funeral Home-Memorial Park Chapel.
Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Hurst on Saturday, February 11th at 2:00 pm. Reverend Sarah Boyette will be officiating.
The family wishes this to be a celebration of Clarita's life and therefore invites you to wear bright colors.
