Bobby Gene Ferguson, of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the age of 90. Bobby was born on May 30, 1933 in Grayson County, Texas, to Wendell Fuller Ferguson and Lucy Faye Ferguson.
Bob grew up in Southmayd, Texas where he attended Southmayd High School. During his time in school he played basketball and was valedictorian of his senior class, 1951. Upon graduating high school, he married Patsy Kay Rice Ferguson, together they built a foundation of love and trust, creating a haven of love within their home.
Once establishing their foundation, they moved to Houston where Bob was drafted in 1953 into the army, then stationed in Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. After his military service, Bob worked as an apprentice pressman in Denison Texas at Gavrin Press. He then spent a few years working for the company in Danville, Kentucky.
Eventually, the family returned to Fort Worth - Mid cities area where Bob worked for Steven’s Corporation from 1962 - 1979 and achieved vice president of sales. They relocated once more to Phoenix, where Bob worked for B. Bunch Company in sales. He then retired in 2005 and returned to Texas, to North Richland Hills to be near family.
Bob loved to play golf and to read, and enjoyed many life long friendships, but mostly loved being with his family.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Wendell Fuller Ferguson; Mother, Lucy Faye Ferguson; Daughter, Sheree Renee Ferguson Weeks.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 71 years, Patsy Kay Ferguson; Children, Mark Ferguson, Paige Ferguson Baxter, Kelly Ferguson; Sister, Nelda Colvin; Nine Grandchildren, Jeramy, Canyon, Collin, Brian, Brent, Blake, Emily, Andy, Katie; 15 Great-Grandchildren, Christian, Rhiannon, Caiden, Madelyn, Dani, James, Oliver, Noah, Jonah, Joshua, Elle, Maisy, Rylee, Avani, Camp; Three Great, Great-Grandchildren, Kylie, Carter, Lacey; and many other extended family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, February 23, 2024 at Forest Ridge Funeral Home in North Richland Hills, Texas.
