Anthony Artea II Obituary

Anthony Trujillo Artea II, (Ant) (Tony), 45, of Hurst, TX, passed away unexpectedly on May 2 nd , 2025. He
was born August 9, 1979, in Las Cruces NM, a beloved son of Hermelinda T. Basham and the late
Anthony V. Artea.

Anthony was affectionately known as a charismatic spirit, and managed to make an impression on
anyone he met along the way. His journey on this earth was one marked by his great love for his family
and friends, his ingenuity & creativity and later in life, for his unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ. His passing has left a void in many hearts, and we ask that you remember him for all that
he was and all that he became.
He graduated from Bel Air High School in El Paso, TX. After high school he joined his uncles, cousins and
brother to work in the oil refineries of Louisiana. He learned many different skills and excelled in many
different fields. He was curious and motivated to further himself by taking different courses and
receiving certifications. Anthony was smart and always willing to learn something new, and his
inspiration journeyed him throughout the country and Mexico. There was no task or project he couldn’t
tackle. He dabbled in carpentry, machinery, electrician work, flooring, etc. The good Lord blessed him
with many vocational talents and was also extremely artistic and creative. Most recently he got into
customizing sneakers, t-shirts, hats, etc. The sky was the limit with Anthony.

Outside of his work and creative whims, Anthony found joy in cooking, lending a hand to others and
hanging out with his friends and family. Those who knew Anthony will remember him for his infectious
smile, his humor, his big heart, his movie references, the funny videos he posted, his daily blessings and
his funny Spanglish sayings. He had a gift of making others smile and laugh, and Anthony’s love for the
Lord was apparent & infectious and will forever leave a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
Anthony is survived by his son, Antonio Perez Artea, his loving parents, Linda and Bill Basham, his
brother Alex, sister-in-law Rachelle, his sister Jackie, brother-in-law Scot, and his nieces and nephews
Phillip, Carmen, Azlin, Quil, Ana and Esme. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles and cousins who adored
him dearly. Anthony also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss
him.
