Alice Eugenie Tackett (Rittenhouse/ Scully)

Alice was born to Ralph and Lena Rittenhouse, in the Texas town of Borger. She attended Borger HS, and continued on to graduate from Hardin Simmons; leading to an accomplished career as a registered nurse, for over 40 years. When she wasn’t working, she was an attentive and compassionate caregiver, confidante, advent traveler, and lover of the arts, well into her retirement, until her death. Passing quickly and suddenly, on Thursday, December 8th, 2022 in the early morning.

Her passing was preceded by her parents and three sisters: Ruthie, Nancy (Winkels), and Anne (Alexander). She leaves behind her husband Gene Tackett, her brother Bill Rittenhouse, her children James Scully and Esther Felton, her beloved grandchildren Morgan Scully, Austin Scully and Mikela Scully, and great grandchild Dustin Scully, as well as numerous nieces and nephews her she held close to her heart.

She will be sorely missed, by all those whose lives she touched. Known for so many things, but most importantly all the love she shared. She was a very passionate and humble friend and parent, opening her heart to anyone seeking to be loved and cherishing every moment she got with those she loved.

Despite the devastation of this loss, we are comforted by the knowledge that she is walking with the Lord. Knowing Whose hands she was in, she did not fear death, often times welcoming the thought with eagerness and excitement, knowing who would be there waiting for her. We love her. She loved us.

Memorial will be on February 11th at North Pointe Baptist Church. 147 E. Hurst Blvd, Hurst, TX 76053 @ 1pm.
