Alice Rundels Obituary

Alice Mae Rundels (née Porter), age 88, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on October 26, 1936, in Shiloh, Ohio, Alice lived a life marked by dedication to her family and an enduring passion for her work.

Alice found great joy in her career in retail. She especially cherished her time working in the women’s department at Foley’s, where she delighted in coordinating outfits for the display racks and helping customers find just the right ensemble. Her eye for fashion and her warm demeanor made her a beloved presence among coworkers and shoppers alike. In addition to her work at Foley’s, Alice also worked for several jewelry stores over the years. No matter the role, she approached every job with diligence and pride.

Family was at the heart of Alice’s world. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Robert Gibb and his wife Patricia; William Rundels; Craig Rundels; Lisa Rundels Keil and her husband Shane; and honorary daughter Dawn Acosta. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jimmy Gibb (Jodi), Jennifer Crable, Alice Jane Crable, Xena Bly, Eddie Bly Jr., Heather Anderson (Karl), Stephanie Perry, TJ Perry, Amanda Rundels, Connor Rundels, Sariah Dowdakin (Marshall), Samuel Keil (Keri), Stephen Keil, Lydia Keil, and Nastya Rundels. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren.

Alice is also survived by her siblings: Charles Porter (Connie), Jan West (Ken), and John Porter (Jin).

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Robert and Martha Elizabeth Porter and Edward and Barbara Barnett; parents Walter Vankirk Porter and Nettie Pearl Barnett Porter; husband William Burnell Rundels; siblings Robert Porter (Margaret), Martha Porter McQuate (Ivan), Dorothy Porter Shaffer (Kenneth); daughters Lori Ann Perry Crable and Cynthia Gibb Bly; sons-in-law Troy Perry, Carl Crable, and Eddie Bly Sr.

Those who knew Alice remember her as someone who gave generously of herself—whether through a kind word, a helping hand in choosing the perfect outfit, or simply by being present with love and warmth. Her strength of character shone through in everything she did.

Though dementia became part of Alice’s life in her later years and contributed to her declining health, it never overshadowed the love and light she shared with others. In honor of her memory, and in lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
