Travis Landers Obituary

Travis Landers, 79, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020.

A memorial service to celebrate Travis’ life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church of Hurst, 521 West Pipeline Road, Hurst.  You are encouraged to view the service online at www.livestream.com/fumchurst

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Hurst Memorial Fund.

Travis Landers was born on January 27, 1941 to Elna Spraggins.  Travis was loved and raised by his grandparents, William and Mae Landers in Forestburg, Texas.  He attended school and graduated Salutatorian of his class in 1959.  He continued his education at Brantley-Draughon College in Fort Worth, Texas where he met and married the love of his life, Joyce in 1960.

Travis was a hard worker, he retired from Fleming after 36 years as a buyer in the grocery industry.  He loved his family, friends, coworkers, hunting, fishing and playing cards.  Most of all he loved the Lord.

Travis was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Landers; his grandfather, William Landers; his grandmother, Mae Landers; his birthmother, Elna Spraggins Stuart; his sisters, Louise Jackson and Nelda Stuart; also, by his brother, Floyd Spraggins.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Don Lindsey; his grandson, Jace Lindsey; his sister, Charlene Arkins; many nieces and nephews; as well as other family members and friends.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
