Tom Grizzelle, 69, was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on June 16, 1954. He lived in North Richland Hills for forty years. His faith in God was strong. Surrounded by family members, he left this world to join his Lord on August, 18 2023. He graduated from Trinity High School in 1972, where he played drums in the band and was a member of the swim team. He enjoyed life and embraced it fully and had a loving family and many friends who will miss him dearly.
Tom was a man of many talents. He never wanted to retire. He loved his job as a stage technician, setting up sound and lighting for concerts and special events, where he met many celebrities. One of his passions was food and often the stage crew was treated to great meals which they readily devoured. He also did carpentry work on the side.
Tom’s greatest passion was music and playing drums with the local bands to which he belonged. He was an excellent drummer and singer. It was fun to watch him tossing his sticks in the air and catching them. He was truly in his element while jamming or playing gigs with his musician friends.
He loved outdoor activities, some of which included rafting, canoeing, kayaking and camping. He also loved watching classic movies and spending time with his beloved dogs.
Tom was blessed with many friends for whom he would do anything, and they felt the same about him. He is survived by his mother, Barbara; sister, Sharon; brother Don, and sister-in-law, Terri; one niece, three nephews, a niece-in-law, and two great nephews, as well as numerous cousins across the state and country.
Memorial services will be held at North Pointe Baptist Church in Hurst at 10:30 on September 23rd.
