Thomas Philip Epps passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Fort Worth, TX at the age of 77. Born in Dallas, TX. Parents Alton and Nona Mann Epps. Thomas was a proud veteran of the US Navy, where he ascended to the rank of Master Chief, serving from E1 to E9. His military career was marked by dedication and leadership, contributing significantly to his units and the broader Navy community.
After his honorable service in the Navy, Thomas transitioned to a career as a safety specialist civilian employer. Thomas was a man of many interests, including making guitars, playing golf, attending music concerts, and hunting. These hobbies reflected his creative spirit and love for the outdoors. He was also a member of his local VFW post.
Thomas pursued higher education at the University of Texas Arlington and furthered his leadership skills at the Senior Enlisted Academy, which shaped his approach both in his military and civilian endeavors.
Thomas is preceded in death by Father Alton Epps, Mother Nona Will Mann Epps and son Matthew Austin Epps.
He is survived by his loving wife Rosemary Loyola Epps, Daughter Natacha Marie Madrigal-Scott spouse Derek Scott. Sons; Thomas Philip Epps II spouse Melissa Epps, John David Epps, Mario Angelo MadrIgal. Grandchildren: Charolette Epps, Aspen Epps, Nicholas E Madrigal, Jeremy E Madrigal and Irelan Rose McKean. Sister: Mannetta Kay Headley, spouse Michael A Headley. Nephews: Andrew M Headley, Lloyd Charles. Niece: Amanda Headley Davenport.
His life will be celebrated with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 8525 Mid Cities Blvd, North Richland Hills, TX. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm the same day at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX.
Thomas was his son’s hero and the love of his wife, Rosemary’s life. His legacy will be cherished greatly by those who knew and loved him.
