Thelma Beryl Dowd, 84, of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 16, 2023. 

Beryl was born March 19, 1939, in Massachusetts. She was a retired Flight Attendant Trainer for United Airlines. She devoted a lot of her retirement to advance the causes of the Republican Party. Beryl was active with the Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW) and served a term as President of Fort Worth Republican Women (FWRW).  Beryl was the heart and soul of the TFRW and many Republican Women’s Clubs. Her passion was providing leadership training and mentoring women to run for office.  She volunteered at the SPCA and helped with community events. She will leave a big gap in our community and will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lonnie, her parents, Robert Dinwiddie; Barbara Sims Steele; her granddaughter Mariana McConnie; and step-daughter Cirstie Dowd. She is survived by her son and wife Julian and Idi McConnie; her grandkids; her dear friends Debra Coffey, Judge Susan McCoy and an army of loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Beryl’s name to the Texas Federation of Republican Women Beryl Dowd Leadership Scholarship Fund and the SPCA of Texas. These were organizations that she was passionate about and dedicated so much of her time to.

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 25th from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Memorial Park Funeral Services.
