Steven Malley of Hurst, TX, has died at the age of 91. Steven was born to Anna and Steven Malley in 1930, in Pennsylvania, with the family moving to New York City in 1939. There, Steven graduated from Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan and later served in the Army from 1951 to 1954. His military work in cryptography led to a 35-year career with IBM. Eager to further his career, he earned a Bachelor of Science from Pace University, NY, in 1979. Also in 1979, Steven moved his family to Hurst, TX, when IBM opened a new branch office.
Steven was an avid music lover. Most weekends, he listened to records from his large collection, which included polkas, classical music, and even the Red Army Chorus. After retiring, he successfully took up oil painting, and served as a mentor in a local elementary school. He was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus in Bedford, and was active with several other church organizations.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents, along with his siblings Alex (“Al”), Ann, Frank, and Marion. He is survived by his wife, Connie, his children and their spouses, Julianne and Edward Kuchcinski; Mary Malley; Steve and Tina Malley; Neal Malley and Marie C. Jones. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Sarah, Regan, Preston, and Matthew.
A mass will be held at 11:00 AM on April 8th, 2022, at St. Michael Catholic Church, in Bedford, TX, followed by a reception in an adjoining room. The entombment will be at Good Shepherd later that afternoon.
