Shirley Ann Henry, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Bedford, Texas on September 14, 2024.
Born on February 17, 1936, in Clarksville, Texas, she lived a life marked by devotion to her faith, family and community.
Shirley was a cherished member of the First United Methodist Church in Hurst, Texas, where she loved to sing in her church choir and attend Sunday school class. She had a volunteer's heart and a commitment to service extending beyond the church walls. Shirley loved to volunteer at Texas Health Methodist Hospital, HEB and served her community with the Oak Crest Woman’s Club. She loved traveling overseas with her best friends, reading avidly, solving crossword puzzles, and playing bridge with her local bridge club.
She was the loving mother of Blane Henry and Lisa Day; grandmother to Justin Shelton and his wife, Megan; and great-grandmother to Everett Henry Shelton and Bennett Theodore Shelton.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Oran Dean and Cloney Francis Stevens, and her beloved husband of 61 years, Delbert Henry.
A service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on October 5th, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, Pirtle Chapel, in Hurst, Texas.
Her spirit of generosity and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
