Sheila Ann Maples, aged 65, passed away on June 22, 2025, in Bedford, Texas. Born on November 11, 1959, in Rochester, NY, Sheila dedicated her life to her family and her community, touching lives with her warmth and generosity.
Sheila earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work, which paved the way for her lifelong career as a dedicated social worker. Her commitment to helping others was evident not only in her professional life but also through her personal passions. Sheila spent many hours volunteering at local hospitals, providing comfort and support to those in need.
A loving wife to Charlie Wayne Maples Jr. for 40 years, Sheila was also a devoted mother to Jennifer, Christopher, and Jerry Capella. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Sheila's love extended to her brothers, Jerry, John, and Robert Ferdette, and she was a doting grandmother to Azaria, Gwendolyne, Ronnie, Coby, and Colton Maples.
Sheila's life was marked by her love for country music, her enjoyment of time spent by the pool, and her ability to nurture relationships with all those she met. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will be cherished by her numerous friends and extended family members.
Sheila was preceded in death by her son Brett A. Maples, and her parents, Gerald A. Ferdette and Betsy Kelly Ferdette, as well as her brother Mike Ferdette.
A service to celebrate Sheila’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 8525 Mid Cities Blvd, North Richland Hills, Texas. Her spirit and legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
