Peggy Sue (Norvelle) Sham Obituary
On Saturday, February 11, 2023, Peggy Sue (Norvelle) Sham passed away peacefully. She was sixty-two. Peggy was a beloved mother, daughter, sister and aunt as well as a friend to many whom she treasured.
Peggy Sue was born to Peggy Norvelle and Phillip Norvelle on September 25th, 1960. She attended L.D. Bell High School and later graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts of Psychology with a minor in Drug Abuse and Addiction. Not long after she felt a strong calling to serve individuals with addictions using her faith based ministry. This led her to attend the Methodist Theological Seminary of Ohio where she earned two master’s degrees in Theology and Addiction Counseling. In addition to her work in church ministry for the last eight years she was employed in Dallas County’s Juvenile Department-Psychology Division counseling at risk and abused youth.
Peggy loved and doted on her son Paul and the two together created some amazing memories that were full of adventure. They had an undeniable bond. Peggy shared many of those memories with Paul’s father, Brad Sham and to this day they remained the best of friends supporting each other in their life’s journeys.
Peggy was well known for her strong faith and her joy in doing for others. Her generosity had no boundaries. Over the years she was active in many volunteer roles including the Austin Street Shelter, numerous projects for the City of Coppell, church activities, Boy Scouts and the Center for the Aging… her list goes on.
Peggy was predeceased by a son, Matthew Shane, her grandparents, Paul and Nanny Lee Gleaves and Arthur and Marie Ann Norvelle as well as an uncle, Paul (Bubba) Gleaves. And…her beloved in-laws Jack and Chick Sham.
Peggy leaves a lasting impact on everyone that loved and adored her and is survived by:
Son, Paul Sham and his father Brad Sham, mother, Peggy Marie Norvelle, sisters, Phyllis St. John, Priscilla Bell, Patricia McLemore (Rodney), Paula Campbell (John) and Patsy Norvelle. She had many nieces, nephews, an aunt and several cousins who shared in her life’s joys.
