Obet Pabon passed away at the age of 86 surrounded by family on November 28, 2021, in North Richland Hills, Texas. He was a most beloved husband, father and grandfather. Obet was born in Lajas, Puerto Rico and at a young age moved to New York City first and then Chicago, Illinois, where he proudly worked for Sears, Roebuck and Company until his retirement. Not one to sit idly by, Obet received his security license and became a security guard for skyscrapers being built in downtown Chicago. After enduring decades of Chicago winters, Obet and his family relocated to Texas and was successful in real estate. Obet was a strong man who loved to constantly stay busy in his retirement with different home projects, chatting with neighbors and pulling pranks on his family. He will be remembered not only as a proud Puerto Rican but as someone with a loving heart. He was deeply caring with a subtle but genuine compassion for others. Obet is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and sister. He was an absolute force of nature who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Obet’s life here on earth has sadly come to its end but for those of us who have faith in our Almighty God and his son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth, his eternal life has just begun. This life is temporary and we, who are believers in Jesus Christ and accept him as our Lord and Savior, will all be together once again sooner or later. Until then for now, Obet will continue to live on in our memories and in our hearts.
