Michael John Morrick, age 61, went to his heavenly home September 16, 2022. Mike was born May 20, 1961, in Portage, Wisconsin. Michael moved to Texas in 1965. He graduated Richland High School in 1979.
After working for Safeway for a short time, Michael took his paternal grandmother's advice and applied to work in the parts department at Hudiburg Chevrolet, local GM dealer. He worked in the parts department for numerous years until he became ill.
In 1997, Michael was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease. He underwent a kidney transplant in 1998, but unfortunately, rejected that kidney and remained on dialysis for the remainder of his life. Michael will be cremated and no formal services will be held at this time in deference to his daughter, Chadney, who suffered a serious fall in February of 2022 and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Chadney has not been told of her father's passing. From February to June, Michael sat in Chadney's hospital room all the while maintaining his three times a week dialysis schedule. When Chadney went home to Wichita Falls in June, he drove every Saturday to sit with her. He loved his daughter more than words can say and was a true warrior on her behalf.
Michael is survived by his parents, John & Sharon Morrick, a daughter Chadney Morrick, three sisters, Jayne, Julie, & Jodie and their husbands, granddaughters, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins.
You can rest now son. Your work is done. We love you.
