Meredith Stephens Obituary
Meredith Stephens passed away, Monday, October 17, 2022.
Meredith was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Ralph and Doris Runnion on August 1, 1962. She graduated from RL Paschal High School in Ft Worth, and later attended Stephen F Austin College.
Growing up, one of Meredith's favorite experiences was as a member of The Dorothy Shaw Bell Choir, which included performing in international performances. As a youth, she loved her time at Camp Waldemar, an all-girls summer camp in the heart of the Texas Hill country, where she developed her love of horses and riding.
Meredith married Jimmy K Stephens on July 25, 1987. She worked at the HEB Chamber of Commerce and valued getting to know the businesses and people in the HEB area where she and Jimmy lived. Riding with their motorcycle friends was something Meredith and Jimmy also loved, including a trip to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota.
Jimmy played drums with The Big Smoo band and Meredith was always there when they played. She was also an avid sports fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys and Mavs. Her family connections with Texas A&M colored her world with Maroon & White, along with the often-heard “Gig’em Aggies”.
Meredith was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy, and her parents, Doris and Ralph Runnion. She is survived by her brother Ron Runnion and wife Joan, and children Liz and Daniel; sister Nancy and husband Bill Garrett, and children Amy Brown and Catherine Cuttre; step-children Brady Stephens and wife Jennifer, and Sarah Jones.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the National MS Society would be appreciated.
