Marvin Lloyd Blue Sr. Obituary
Marvin Lloyd Blue Sr., 71, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. Born on August 16, 1954, in Windsor, North Carolina, Marvin lived a life filled with passion, strength, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
As the son of a military family, Marvin grew up as an Army brat, living in France, Germany, and Taiwan. These experiences gave him a unique worldview, allowed him to speak multiple languages, and helped him appreciate diverse perspectives. Those early years shaped the adaptability, cultural appreciation, and understanding of people that he carried throughout his life.
Marvin proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1973 to 1984, dedicating more than a decade of service to his country. During his military service, he met Oy, the love of his life, beginning a partnership that would span more than five decades. His years in the Air Force reflected the discipline, resilience, and commitment that defined the way he lived.
Marvin was also a proud 32nd Degree Prince Hall Mason, carrying himself with honor, integrity, and a deep sense of brotherhood and service.
Known for his sharp perspective, infectious humor, larger-than-life personality and easy going nature, Marvin had a unique ability to make people laugh, feel welcome, and see life differently. He carried himself with authenticity and heart, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Above all, Marvin was a dedicated and supportive husband to his wife, Oy, and not just a father, but “Dad” to his two children, Tina Lavell and Bug, instilling in them strong values and principles. His joy was being Papaw to his beloved granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Clementine Blue. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Nuanjan Blue; his children, Matina Jackson and her husband, Dominic, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Marvin Jr. and his wife, Latarsha, of Aledo, Texas; his brother, Thomas Blue Jr. and his wife, Marie, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; his sister, Beverly Hayslett and her husband, Keith, of New Egypt, New Jersey; and his cherished granddaughters, Mia Garrett, Jaden Blue, Aubrey Blue, and Artemis Blue. He also leaves behind extended family members, lifelong friends, and loved ones who will continue to honor his memory and legacy.
Marvin will be remembered for his passion for life, his wisdom, his sense of humor, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
