Linda Jean Cheek, 71 of Hurst, Texas passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020. She was born Sunday August 22, 1948 in Bennington, Oklahoma.
Linda had a love for animals, telling stories and all things western. She loved spending time at the horse lot riding her horses. She took pride in raisin’ livestock, and tilling a peanut field or two in her early years. She also spent many years training dogs and greatly enjoyed seeing her student’s success. She always had a good story or two to tell and man did she love sharing those stories with all those grand kids. Linda was known far and wide for her “cooking out of the kitchen” meals. Some of you may have had that tamale pie.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Michelle and husband, Darren Ramm of Plano Texas; her grandchildren, (in birth order), Matthew Ramm, Krystal Ramm, Madison Ramm, Alexis Sanders and Husband, Matthew Sanders, Anthony Bingham, Haley Nichols, Kelie Easley, and Daniel McGee; her sister, Frances Starkus; and also by her niece, Belinda “Lucy” Burgess for countless years of selfless love, care, and devotion.
Linda is Preceded in death by her parents, Emert and Lois Brooks; her son, Casey McGee; her siblings, Martha Dawson, Gayleen Palmer, Imogene Bills, Kathleen Doyle, Leon Brooks, Bill Brooks, William Lawery Brooks, Berry Leroy Brooks, and Geraldine Brooks.
A memorial service to celebrate her life and her birthday, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Forest Ridge Funeral Home Memorial Park Chapel.
