Karen Sue (Olson) Owen-Watts received the angel wings she earned from her 70 earthly years on September 30, 2020. She passed quietly at her home in Hurst with her husband and family at her side. Inurnment will take place in Bear Creek Cemetery in Euless 2:00p.m October 11, 2020. Cremation is under the care of Forest Ridge Funeral Home. Karen was born July 17, 1950 in Dallas to Vernon Carl and Doris Laverne Amundson Olson. She was raised in Oak Cliff and Desoto, graduating as the valedictorian of her class from Desoto High School in 1968. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for many years. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to garden and could be found most often out in the yard tending to her plants. Antiquing and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia were past times she also enjoyed. She married Gary Watts in 1998, building 22 years of love and memories. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Connie Langley. Survivors include her husband, Gary; two sons, Brian Owen and husband Evan Warrick, and Jeremy Owen and wife Christa; grandchildren, Megan Owen and husband Andrew Mitchell, Harlee Owen, Ian Owen, and Cassidy Snell and wife, Courtney; great-grandchildren, Makenna Mitchell, Tilden Snell, and Beckett Snell; a sister, Nancy Adam and husband Russell Fields; a brother, Buddy Olson and wife Cindy; a special uncle and aunt, Glen and Francis Amundson; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
