Joyce Greer Brasher, of Southlake, Texas, formerly of Hurst, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the age 76.

Joyce was born on December 20, 1947 in Asheville, North Carolina to Harrell and Helen Greer. They moved to Texas with the Navy in July of 1959.  
Joyce graduated Abilene Cooper High School in Abilene Texas, class of 1965.

She married Richard Lynn Brasher, her soul-mate, in December of 1968 and they were married for 37 wonderful years until his passing in January of 2006.

Joyce was an unashamed Christian.  She loved the Lord and loved to tell people about her deep love for Jesus and His saving grace.  She was kind and compassionate and lived her life focused on displaying the fruits of the spirit.  She shared God’s love in everything she did.  It was her greatest joy that her 2 girls, their husbands, and her 4 grandchildren knew Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. 

Throughout her life as a homemaker and mom, Joyce wore many different hats. She acted as the family chef, a birthday party planner, a child counselor, and a full-time housekeeper just to list a few. More than anything, Joyce enjoyed her time at home raising her children, and later in life helping with grandchildren. In her free time, you could always find her reading a good book.

Joyce was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend to many. Her loving smile and caring spirit brought great joy and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know and love her. 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Lynn Brasher; parents, Harrell and Helen Greer; in-laws, Jerry and Dude Brasher; brother, Duane Greer; sister-in-law, Linda Brasher, and many other precious family members who welcomed her in Heaven.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jamie Baker and husband, Jeff, Karie Hagy and husband, Mitch; sisters Patsie Calvin and Susan Jackson; brother-in-law Steve Brasher; sister-in-law Shirley Sheriff; grandchildren, Nathanael Hagy, Callie Baker, Paisley Hagy, Camden Baker; nephew Brian Calvin, his wife Petrina and their children Mia and Malachi; niece Sommer Lapitsky and husband John and family; nephew Cody Brasher and wife Kelly and family, nephew Allyn Greer and wife Tara and family, Stephanie Greer, David Greer and wife Ari and family; nephew Eric Jackson; niece Jamie Vesta and husband Don; and numerous extended family members, church family, and dear friends. 

A visitation for Joyce will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Forest Ridge Funeral Home Memorial Park Chapel 8525 Mid Cities Blvd., North Richland Hills, Texas 76182. Her Celebration of Life will be held the following day, Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Southlake Baptist Church2501 W Southlake Blvd. Southlake, TX 76092

A private family interment will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
