John F. Morrick, better known as "Jack" to friends and family, went into the arms of Jesus on August 1, 2026.   Jack had been in the fight of his life - cancer.   He fully intended to beat this, but his age was against him.  He gave it the best fight he could until the end.

Jack was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin, May 31, 1936, to Jack and Violet (Reardon) Morrick.   He moved to Texas in 1965 at which time he started working for Byrd's Automotive where he worked until starting his own business, Brown & Morrick Automotive in 1974.   He later relocated to Keller, Texas, and then back to North Richland Hills and Richland Hills where he ran Morrick Automotive until his retirement.  

Jack Morrick was a car engine's worst nightmare!!  He had a brilliant mind for automobile engines.   He was still telling his sons-in-law how to fix their cars up until the time of his death.  Jack loved hunting and fishing, and the Dallas Cowboys.   He thought they would be winners this year. 
 
More than anything, Jack loved family.   He is survived by the love of his life for 66 years, his wife, Sharon; daughters Jayne (Mike) King, Julie (Neal) Talbott, and Jodie (Steve) Pavlick; granddaughters Jessica Talbott, Chadney Morrick, Jaclyn (Kyle) Bandujo, Jordyn (Alec) Shaver, Johnna Pavlick; grandsons Joshua Talbott and Jacob Pavlick; great-grandchildren Victoria Morrick, Audrey Talbott, John Preston Talbott, Grayson Bandujo, Bryndle Edwards, and Sloane Bandujo.   He would have welcomed another great-grandson in November with a happy heart.  He is also survived by sisters Barbara Miller of Gladstone, MI, and Sharon (Gordie) Luebke of Tomball, Texas.  

After the loss of their son in September 2022, Jack and Sharon chose simple services for themselves, as they had done for their son, Michael.  Jack will be cremated, and his final resting place will be Smithfield Cemetery.  

Preceded in death by his son, Michael, parents Jack and Violet Morrick, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
