JoAnn and Theodor Hoffmann Obituary
Theodor Hoffmann took his final flight in the early morning hours of February 13, 2026. His cherished wife, Jo Ann Hoffmann, followed him three days later on February 16th, 2026.
Ted Hoffmann was born in Breslau, Germany on August 30, 1927. He immigrated to the United States as a young man and proudly served his country in the Air Force for over three decades. He retired as a Chief Flight Engineer in Charleston, South Carolina, before moving to Grand Prairie, Texas, where he worked for another 30 years as a flight instructor for American Airlines. He retired at the age of 93.
Ted’s work ethic was unmatched. His accolades and accomplishments were vast. But the titles he wore with the most pride were that of husband, father, and Opa. Nothing gave him more joy than coming home to his wife. He would be the first to tell you that she was the wind beneath his wings.
Jo Ann Hoffman was born in Pineville, Louisiana on August 1, 1935. Always quick with her wit, she embodied the Cajun French spirit and was the ultimate Domestic Goddess. She never forgot where she came from, and relished time spent with her people. She was a beloved Oma and her creative talents shined through her cooking and home decor. Jo Ann had a magical touch when arranging flowers, and impeccable taste when it came to fashion. Despite being a savvy bargain hunter, she made sure that Ted never left for work looking like anything less than a million dollars. She found great fulfillment as a volunteer with the church Consolation Ministry as well as other forms of community outreach on behalf of St. Michael the Archangel. Jo Ann was responsible for helping to raise funds for the purchase of the statue of the Blessed Mother from Rome, and it brought her great joy to arrange her flowers.
At the ages of 98 and 90, Ted and Jo Ann are joined together for eternity and their indomitable spirits live on. As their family lays them to rest together, their love and devotion to each other outshines all of their honors and accomplishments. They never failed to humbly credit these things to the grace of God.
Ted and Jo Ann Hoffmann are survived by a daughter and two sons, as well as three granddaughters, two great-grandsons, and one great-great-granddaughter. There are also many precious nieces and nephews.
Serving veterans who have made sacrifices for our country has always been dear to the hearts of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to K9’s for Warriors. They are a wonderful organization that trains dogs from shelters to provide support for veterans who are suffering from the aftermath of their service.
