Jerry Don Ringwald Obituary

Jerry Don Ringwald Entered the gates of Heaven on February 01, 2023 after a short courageous battle with cancer.  Many may know him as Jerry or Jerry Don or as we love to call him our Paw - Paw. Jerry was born April 28, 1943 in Clarendon Texas to LeRoy Ringwald and Rose May Harvey- Ringwald. Jerry was one of 6 children. At the age of 14 Jerry was saved at Canyon City Colorado and is of the Baptist faith.  He worked as a Carhop while in high school until he graduated in 1962 from Plainview High School in Plainview, Tx.  Jerry attended one semester at Wayland Baptist University before  he was drafted in the U.S. Army , however he chose to enlist in the U.S. Air Force where he served his country honorably for one term of service.  On July 4, 1964 Jerry married his sweetheart Judith Dennis- Ringwald and they have remained proudly married for 58 years until his recent passing.  Over their years of marriage, they welcomed 2 daughters Trisha La’ Don Ringwald and Jana D’Len Ringwald. Jerry loved his daughters very much and would do anything for them. After leaving the military he worked for Braniff Airways in Dallas Texas until they ceased operations in May 1982. His many years working at Braniff Airways gained him many friendships of which he remained close friends with until present day.  After his years at Braniff Airways he spent many decades honoring his skills as one of the most admirable, honest, dependable hard-working carpenters.  Jerry was an entrepreneur who loved working with his hands and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  Jerry was an important part of his immediate and extended families. He was a critical thinker who spoke the truth with concision. He had a memorable smile and very much enjoyed making jokes and visiting with family and friends and loved his Dr. Pepper and playing his poker games online.

 

Jerry was preceded in death by both his parents LeRoy Ringwald and Rose May Harvey-Ringwald, Sister Nancy Helen Ringwald, brother Roy Ringwald and sisters Margaret Campbell, and Mary Horn.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years Judy Ringwald, Daughters Trisha Ringwald Ivy, and Jana Ringwald Lillis. His sister Glenda Mull and husband William of Plainview, Tx.  5 Grand Children:  Danial Lillis of Wister Oklahoma, Heather Bullard and husband Jesse Bullard of Denton Texas, Kymber Chapman and husband Tony Chapman of Drop, Texas.  Logan Ivy of Midlothian Texas, and Zack Lillis of Denton Texas. His 5 Great Grandchildren: Colby Kampfhenkel, Wyatt Bullard, Kavin Bullard, Skylynn Chapman, and Charlee Ivy. As well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who all loved and cherished every moment with him.


To have Known Jerry was a Blessing he never met a stranger and there will never be another person like him in this world. We will all miss him deeply and cherish all the memories made with him.

 

 

Memorial service will be held at Forest Ridge Funeral home in North Richland Hills  on march 11, 2023 at 2:00 pm and Burial will be at the DFW national cemetery in Dallas on march 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm
