Jennifer Hope Ellis

Jennifer Hope Ellis, 42, a resident of Denton State Supported Living Center, passed away on September 11, 2023. She was born on February 9, 1981, in Columbia, South Carolina. Jennifer was a fun-loving and kind individual who had a zest for life. She had a passion for fashion and was often seen wearing hats, hairbands and lots of bling. Jennifer loved animals, shopping, going to the movies, and cherished holidays. The color pink held a special place in her heart, as did her family.

Jennifer is survived by her mother, Jenny Ellis, and her brothers, Jonathan Ellis (Hermira) and Jason Ellis (Tiffany). She was a beloved aunt to her nephews, Nick and Josh Ellis, and her nieces, Bella and Jesse Ellis. Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Dan Ellis Jr., and her paternal grandparents, Dan and Dolores Ellis, as well as her maternal grandparents, Dannie and Sarah Edwards.

Jennifer attended Trinity High School and soon after graduation she began working at Walmart in Bedford, Texas. She was a dedicated employee of 13 years who took pride in her work. Her family has always been grateful to the Walmart team that welcomed and supported her during those years. Jennifer also served as a volunteer for the Texas Health Resource HEB Hospital Fitness Center for 5 years.

Jennifer was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hurst and attended the Special Needs Sunday School class. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and expressed her faith and love through prayer for others.

In her free time, Jennifer enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics. She excelled in various sports, including cycling, basketball, golf, swimming, bowling, and horseback riding. Her determination and passion for these activities were truly inspiring.

A Celebration of Life for Jennifer will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 11:30 am at the First United Methodist Church located at 521 W. Pipeline Rd, Hurst, Texas 76053.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Volunteer Services Counsel for Denton State Supported Living Center through their website at www.vscdenton.org.

The Forest Ridge Funeral Home, located at 8525 Mid Cities Blvd. North Richland Hills, Texas 76182, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.

Jennifer Hope Ellis will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. May her memory be a blessing.
