On Saturday May 2, 2020, James Stewart, known to everyone as Jimmy, died peacefully at home.
Jimmy was born October 24, 1973 in Brooklyn, NY to James (Jim) Stewart and Irene (Jurkuvenas) Stewart. He grew up in Old Bridge, NJ.
Jimmy joined the United States Navy July 27, 1992 where he served in multiple locations including a tour of duty in Iraq. He was proud to be a Plankowner on the USS Ronald Reagan. He retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2015 after serving 23 1/2 years.
On January 17, 2002, he married Alicia Faith Coakley on the beach in St. Lucia, West Indies.
Jimmy was a force of nature. He was 100% all the time and lived life to the fullest. He cherished his time in the military where he mentored many young sailors. Even after he retired he still assisted his former shipmates with their careers.
He was a loving husband and son who enjoyed spending time with his family which included two minature schnauzers Hansel and Otto who he referred to as "his boys".
Known for his wicked sense of humor and scathing wit, he could make anyone laugh.
Preceded in death by his father Jim. He is survived by his wife Alicia, mother Irene, his brother Joey, his wife Nicole and several aunts, uncles, cousins, neices and nephews.
Jimmy will be remembered and missed by many people. If a man is not truly dead while his name is still spoken the Jimmy will live on forever.
Per his request, jimmy will be cremated and his ashes scattered at sea. A memorial service is being planned at NAS Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth at a date to be determined.
Donations can be made to Soldier's Angels, an organization that was close to Jimmy's heart.
