Jim was born in New Jersey. After serving in the Air Force he started with American Airlines, where he worked for 43 years and proudly wrote flight procedures for many different airplanes. He was transferred from LaGuardia Airport to the AA Flight Academy in Texas when it opened in 1970.
He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and announced many aerobatic Air Shows. He would take his sons, Jimmy and Craig, and they would get to shake the hands of all the pilots.
He was very involved in civic activities with the City of Hurst, and served on the Civil Service Commission for 35 years.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Dot, daughter Kim and her wife Dianne, sons Jimmy and his wife Marlene, Craig and his wife Amy, his sister Reenie, and his brother Bob. He has 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Jim had many friends and was known to frequently reply when asked, "I never had a bad day in my life!"
Services will be held at First Methodist Church Hurst on Pipeline Rd., at 11:00 on Friday, September 3rd.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Alzheimer's Association.
