Helen Johnson Obituary

Helen L. (Stewart) Johnson, 93, enter her new spiritual life on Thursday, September 24.

Helen, aka “Mom” was born in Post, Texas on April 12, 1927. Her parents and siblings settled in Levelland, Texas where she graduated High School. She was a student at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. It was there she met the love of her life, Jack A. Johnson. Her life with her family during childhood, with Jack and her children, and more recent with grandchildren and great grandchildren has been loving and caring. She will be missed.

Helen was predeceased by Jack, her husband for 31 years. Her parents, Ernest Stewart, Jr., her mother, Lois Martin Stewart.  Siblings…Ernest Elbert, Evelyn Looney, Betty Schwenson, and survived by her sister Bonnie Becton.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra McIlvain, two sons, Rick Johnson, and Brad Johnson. Daughter-in-law, Helen Johnson, son-in-law, Ted McIlvain all currently residing in the DFW area. She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Brent McIlvain and wife Kerri, Kevin McIlvain and wife Lisa, Janette Savage and husband Casey, Christy Sullivan and husband Brian.

She has twelve great grandchildren: Abigail, Hannah, Gracie, Philip, Owen and Lily McIlvain, Taylor, Taryn, Tressa, and Teagan Savage, and Bryce and Cade Sullivan

As agreed with Helen, her family will gather for “A Celebration of Life” at a date to be determined. Family will have the opportunity to reminisce, share stories, and celebrate the wonderful relationships shared with Helen.

The family is thankful for Forest Ridge Funeral Home for their care and comforting support. We are also grateful for allowing us the opportunity to acknowledge her life by leaving comments on this obituary site.
