Gustave Peter Robicheaux Jr. born October 21, 1934, died peacefully on November 22, 2021.
Gus, as he was known to friends and family alike, was born in Franklin, Louisiana to Catherine Jay Lechner and Gustave Pierre Robicheaux who preceded him in death. Also proceeding him in death were his sisters, Marion and Marjory and the love of his life-Betty, who passed away in 2014.
Gus was a proud veteran of the Navy where he achieved the rank of petty officer first class. He was a fourth-degree in the Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Legion.
Gus was a double engineer and had graduated from SMU. He loves to garden, tinker in his garage, and was a frugal but accomplished master of all trades. He could fix anything and was always ready to lend hand to whom ever needed his help. From working on cars to fixing TVs, Gus could do it all. He was well respected in his field, loved by all who knew him, and will be sorely missed by his friends and family.
Gus is survived by his daughter Kimberly S. Smyth and her husband David, his son Kevin, and three grandchildren-Sean P. Robicheaux, Joshua S. Smyth, and Christopher A. Smyth, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services for Gus will be at Saint John the Apostle Catholic Church in North Richland Hills on December 9 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Knights of Columbus.
