Gregory Miller Obituary

Gregory (Greg) Miller, Sr., 64, passed away at his home in Watauga, TX on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

Greg was born in Yakima, WA and grew up in Northwest Florida. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy where he first worked on flight simulators. This experience eventually led to his successful career with American Airlines where he worked for over 30 years. Due to Greg's impeccable work ethic and knowledge, he was a highly valued employee and received many awards and recognitions from his peers and management alike.

Greg was a quick learning jack-of-all-trades with an almost encyclopedic knowledge of a wide variety of subjects. He was especially good with hands-on learning and was adept at repairing almost anything. His deep interest in learning began in childhood where he would often read the family's encyclopedias and would disassemble and reassemble various objects to gain a better understanding of how the world around him worked. His curiosity served him well throughout his life.

Greg was always on the go, but in his spare time, he liked reading, watching crime, science fiction and talent shows, listening to music, working on home projects, and spending time with his family. Greg's most memorable traits were probably his unusual sense of humor, his smile, and his striking blue eyes. Greg was kindhearted and loved animals, especially his cat Jinx. He welcomed and helped care for the many strays his family brought home. Greg was a person who always tried to be there for you and was always willing to lend a helping hand and share his knowledge. He had a lifelong dedication to his family starting with taking care of his mother at a young age. Greg was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Greg was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Alvarene. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Laura, of 36 years; sons Gregory Miller, Jr., Justin Williams, and Kyle Miller (Jacqueline); grandchild Rowan Tillman. Missing Greg, his sweet elderly dog Barkley decided to leave this life and join him.
